We're a little tired and full of wine and food but we perk up when we arrive at our last stop. Frattoria San Donato is a beautiful family-owned farm very near to San Gimignamo. The owner shows us the grapes harvested that day and his wife serves us more trays of cheese, salami and prosciutto. The setting is so quaint and picturesque that it's hard not to like the wine. Like the first vineyard in the Chianti region, the white wine produced is Vernaccia and we decide to buy a few bottles to bring home. This dry white wine is very prevalent in the area of San Gimignamo. We also tasted a red wine that was not as full bodied as the hearty Chianti Classico.
We invite Constanza to enjoy a glass of wine on our last stop but she politely declines. After a long day of eating and drinking, Constanza drops us off at our hotel where we spend the rest of the evening blogging and visiting with other guests in the hotel's public room. It was a good day and we are happy that we were able to have three very different wine experiences.
